HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03172009 - C.48RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment & Human Services Director, or designee, to accept funding from the California Department of Education in an amount not to exceed $5,682 for the term July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 for Infant Toddler Resource support costs related to Child Development programs. FISCAL IMPACT: None 100% State funding Funding to be appropriated in the Department's FY 2008-09 budget. BACKGROUND: The California Department of Education regularly releases support funds for contractors that operate Child Development programs across the State. The support contracts typically arrive later in the fiscal year; this year the contract arrived later than usual due to State budget delays. The CCAP 8034 agreement (CCC 39-822) funds Infant and Toddler resources for the 2008-09 fiscal year. CCAP 8034 39-822 CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department's Community Services Bureau childcare programs support three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
