HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03172009 - C.45RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment & Human Services Department Director, or designee, to amend an Interagency Agreement with Contra Costa College District to increase the payment limit by $9,662 to a new payment limit not to exceed $1,150,944 for continued State Preschool services with no change to the term July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. FISCAL IMPACT: None. No County match. 100% State funds Funding to be appropriated into Department's FY 2008-09 budget. BACKGROUND: On July 22, 2008 the Board approved receipt of funds from the College District to operate Part-day Expanded State Preschool programs to program-eligible children and families in Contra Costa County. The original agreement was not fully funded due to State budget constraints. This amendment brings the grant to FY 2008-09 budget level. College District State Agreement, CPRE 8030 InterAgency Agreement, 39-811-32 CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Community Services Bureau of the Employment & Human Services Department supports three of Contra Costa County's community outcomes: Outcome 1 - "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School," Outcome 3 - "Families that are Economically Self-sufficient," and Outcome 4 - "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing." These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
