APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract amendment with Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa, effective
February 1, 2009, increasing the contract by $16,827 from $126,060 to a new payment limit
of $142,887, with no change in the contract term of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 to
provide Long Term Care Ombudsman Services to Seniors. (No County Match)
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County Costs: $142,887 Older Americans Act Title IIIB and Title VII; 100% Federal
(CFDA#93.042, #93.044)
BACKGROUND:
Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa provides long-term care ombudsman services for
adults including mediation and conciliation services, creation of Family Councils for
support of families of long term care residents, report investigation of physical abuse of all
dependent adult and elder residents of long term care facilities, education and training of
senior’s rights, benefits, and entitlements.
