HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10091984 - X.12 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) RESOLUTION NO. 84/603 declaring October 10th as ) "National Day of the ) Republic of China" ) WHEREAS, Taichung County, Taiwan, Republic of China and Contra Costa County have enthusiastically developed a Sister-County relationship; and WHEREAS, this relationship is serving a mutual benefit in promoting economic, trade, social and cultural exchanges and developments for both counties; and WHEREAS, the two counties are united in the firm belief that this relation- ship will bind the people of the United States and the Republic of China in ever- lastino bonds of friendship; and WHEREAS, the Republic of China will be celebrating its 73rd Anniversary of its founding during the month of October; and WHEREAS, a special dinner has been planned to celebrate the "Double Tenth National Day" also many other activities are planned which will involve more than twelve hundred thousand people throught the San Francisco Bay Area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, in recognition of this auspicious occasion, wishes to join in the celebration by declaring October 10, 1984 as "National Day of the Republic of China" , to enable the citizens of our county to be more aware of the freedom and democracy that the Republic of China enjoys. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unamimous vote of the Board Members present on this 9th day of October 1984. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date afore- said.
