HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01311984 - X.6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 31, 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder , McPeak, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Medi-Cal Patients in Nursing Homes Supervisor S. W. McPeak having referred to the many nursing homes in Contra Costa County that have signed voluntary agreements not to transfer patients to other facilities solely because they become eligible for Medi-Cal, and having recommended that the Board take the following actions: 1. Commend those nursing homes/convalescent hospitals that have entered into the voluntary agreement with Contra Costa County regarding Medi-Cal patients and invite those that have complied to attend the February awards ceremony and receive certificates; 2. Again request those nursing homes that have failed to enter into the agreement to consider doing so; 3. Notify the County' s legislative delegation (both State and Federal representatives) , the Little Hoover Commission, and Lt. Governor Leo McCarthy of the County' s efforts to secure the voluntary cooperation of nursing homes and that copies of that correspon- dence be sent to the nursing homes that have failed to cooperate; and Supervisor N. C. Fanden having recommended that copies of the documents also be sent to Celia Dawson and Walter Blumst whose efforts initiated the compliance program; Board members being in agreement, IT IS ORDERED that the aforesaid recommendations are APPROVED. 1 hereby certify that this Is a true and corre-tcopy of an action taken cnd entered on the minutes of the Board of SupervieW on the dare shown.
