HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01171984 - 1.9 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 17, 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson . NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Construction Change Order Policy - Sanitation District Nos. 5, 159 and 19. The Board of Supervisors as governing board of Contra Costa County Sanitation District Nos. 5, 15, and 19 have authority to award construction contracts for projects within the Districts. During construction, construction contract change orders will be necessary. For effective construction project management, itris appropriate that the Engineer ex officio and authorized Deputies be given authority to approve construction contract orders within certain limi- tations. The Public Works Director, as Engineer ex officio of the Districts, recommends the following: 1. In accordance with current approved District budget accounts for the Project, the Public Works Director, Chief Deputy Public Works Director, and the Assistant Public Works Director-Environmental Control be authorized to approve for the Project: a. Additive contract change orders up to a total sum of $5,000 for work to be done in conformity with the Board's approved plans and specifications for the Project and not constituting any modification of or departure from said plans and specifications. b. Deductive contract change orders accepted by the contractor and not constituting a modification of or departure from said plans and specifications. C. Contract change orders providing time extensions up to a total of 20 days. 2. The District' s Resident Engineer and construction Project Manager be authorized to issue additive contract change orders in the field only in the event of an emergency and subject to the applicable limitations of subsection (a) of above Section 1. 3. The Public Works Director be directed to report to the Board all construc- tion contract change orders approved by the Director at the next regular meeting of. the Board following the construction contract change order approval.
