NOES: None . ABSENT: None . ABSTAIN: None . RESOLUTION NO. 84/ 127 SUBJECT: ) Commendation of Mr. Rafat Shahid, ) Director, Contra Costa County ) Occupational Health-Hazardous ) Materials Program. ) ) WHEREAS, from the date of his initial appointment in 1970 to the position of Occupational Health Specialist, to the time of.his resignation as Director of the County Occupational Health-Hazardous Materials Program, Mr. Rafat Shahid has performed his duties in a manner that reflects credit on himself and the County service; and WHEREAS, Mr. Shahid's expertise in the identification and elimination of hazards associated with workplaces, and his leadership in developing and implementing a County program for Hazardous Waste Management have been exemplary; and WHEREAS, Mr. Shahid has provided professional support to the Health Officer, Planning Agencies, Public Works Department, County Administrator, and other agencies on all types of Occupational Health and Hazardous Waste impacts on this community; a9d WHEREAS, in addition to his responsibilities in Occupational Health- Hazardous Waste, Mr. Shahid also served as Acting Director of the Environmental Health Division for several months during 1980-1981 ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa wishes Mr. Shahid well in his new position and expresses on behalf of_the entire County our appreciation to him for a job well done. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman is authorized to present this Resolution to Mr. Shahid at an appropriate ceremony.
