SUBJECT: In the Matter of the Proposed Amendment RESOLUTION NO. 84/124
of the Rodeo General Plan
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
There is filed with this Board and its Clerk a copy of Resolution No. 39-1983
adopted by the Contra Costa County Planning Commission, discussing an amendment to the
County General Plan for the Rodeo area.
On January 24, 1983, this Board held a hearing on said amendment as discussed
by the Contra Costa County Planning Resolution No. 39-1983. Notice of said hearing was duly
given in the manner required by law. The Board at the hearing called for testimony of all
persons interested in this matter. Numerous persons spoke for or against the proposed general
plan amendment. The Board closed the public hearing, continued the matter until February 28,
1984, and requested staff to meet with the two main citizen groups and Supervisors Fanden and
Powers to attempt to resolve the few remaining issues. That meeting resulted in a staff report
presented to the Board on February 28, 1984.
The Board hereby finds that the proposed amendment will not have a
significant impact on the environment and that a Negative Declaration has been prepared and
processed in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and the County's EIR
guidelines.
The Board members, having fully considered this amendment, determined to
amend the Rodeo Area General Plan as recommended by the County Planning Commission as
amended by the February 28, 1984 staff report with the exception that the area east of
Garretson Avenue and north of 2nd Street will be designated as Single Family Residential High
Density.
The Board further directs the County Planning Department to incorporate this
proposed amendment into a combined amendment to the General Plan which this Board will
consider for adoption during the 1984 calendar year as one of the four permitted amendments
to the mandatory elements of the County General Plan.
