HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02281984 - 2.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on February 28, 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, McPeak, Schroder, Torlakson. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. ABSTAIN: None. SUBJECT: PROPOSED CONTRACT WITH NU-MED MEDICAL, INC. The County Administrator having submitted a proposed contract between the County and Nu-Med Medical , Inc. in the amount of $1 ,050,000 for management of the County Hospital and the financial affairs of the Health Services Department for the period February 1, 1984 through January 31 , 1986 ; and The County Administrator having noted a correction which needs to be made on page 2 of the Service Plan in order to note that the contractor has ninety (90) days rather than sixty (60) days after the effective date of the contract to submit a Work Plan; and Supervisor Powers having noted that he had carefully reviewed the contract and is extremely pleased with the content of the contract and the fact that many of the issues which have been of concern to the Board are included, specifically the provision for cancellation; and Supervisor Powers having MOVED that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the Board contract 23-057 between the County and Nu-Med Medical , Inc. , in the amount of $1 ,050,000 for the term February 1 , 1984 through January 31, 1986 as corrected by the County Administrator; and Supervisor Fanden having seconded the motion, and the Board Members having raised questions regarding specific issues in the Service Plan which were responded to by staff from the County Administrator's Office; and The President of Nu-Med, Mr. Liston Witherall , having noted specifically that preliminary estimates on the budget requirements for 1984-1985 will be provided to the Board by April 1 , 1984 and that final recommended requirements will be contained in the Work Plan which will be submitted to the Board by May 1 , 1984; and Supervisor McPeak having noted her concern that the reports from Nu-Med be made in a timely enough manner so that the Board can insure that the County Budget for 1983-1984 is balanced and that no deficit is carried into the 1984-1985 fiscal year; the MOTION was ADOPTED unanimously.
