Cub Scout Pack 12 of Martinez )
on the Occasion of Its ) Resolution No. 84/107
Fiftieth Anniversary )
1934 - 1984 )
WHEREAS Cub Scout Pack 12 was founded fifty years ago in
the Montecito/John Muir school area of Martinez and fifty years
later still serves Martinez boys ages eight to ten in the John Swett
School area; and
WHEREAS over the last fifty years more than 1,300 boys have
been members of Pack 12 and a high percentage of these boys went on
to become Eagle Scouts and local civic and business leaders; and
WHEREAS under the leadership of Cubmaster Bob Gemmer,
Webelos Leaders Jim Gaebe and Norman Lundberg and Den Mothers
Katherene Nattras , Diane Skaife, Nicki Holmes and Beverlye Deboice,
twenty-five boys are currently part of 'Pack 12, learning the
highest principles of conduct and citizenship; and
WHEREAS innumerable parents and other caring adults have
for the past fifty years given of their time to guide the boys of
Pack 12 in character formation and learning; and
WHEREAS Cub Scout Pack 12 has instilled in its boys the
responsibility for personal spiritual growth, sportsmanship, self-
respect, strength of mind and body, respect for other people,
improved family relations and understanding; and
WHEREAS through character development, citizenship
training and physical fitness, Cub Scout Pack 12 has, for fifty years,
prepared boys for the rigors and tests of adulthood; and
WHEREAS the Cub Scout Motto "Do Your Best" is an admirable
and complete guide to personal conduct; and
WHEREAS the :Contra Costa .Cbuhty.";Board of Supervisors wishes
to RECOGNIZE the achievements of Cub Scout Pack 12 of Martinez and
to EXTEND to Cub Scout Pack 12 its best wishes for at least another
fifty successful years of Cub Scouting;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that we do hereby
commend Cub Scout Pack 12 of Martinez on its Fiftieth Anniversary.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board on the
twenty-first day of February 1984.
- I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors
on the date aforesaid.
