SUBJECT: Ratify the prior decision of the Public Works Director, or designee, to fully close all of McEwen
Road, on September 5, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. through September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., for the
purpose of roadwork, Martinez/Port Costa area. (District II)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ADOPT Resolution No. 2008/ Wratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director,or designee,to fully
close all of McEwen Road on September 5, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. through September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., for the
purpose of roadwork, Martinez/Port Costa area. (District II)
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Applicant shall follow guidelines set forth by the Public Works Department.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Applicant will not have Board approval for completeddiroad closure

SUBJECT: Ratifying the prior decision of the Public Works Director,or designee,to fully close
all of McEwen Road,on September 5,2008 at 8:00 a.m.through September 6,2008
at 10:00a.m., for the purpose of roadwork, Martinez/Port Costa area. (District II)
IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that permission is granted to Contra Costa County
Public Works Department to fully close McEwen Road,except for emergency traffic,on September
5, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. through September 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m, subject to the following conditions:
I. Through traffic will be detoured via neighboring streets.
2. Local traffic will be allowed access throughout the duration of the closure.
3. All signing to be in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control
Devices.
4. Contra Costa County Public Works Department shall comply with the requirements of the
Ordinance Code of Contra Costa County.
5. Obtain approval for the closure from the Sheriff's Department, the California Highway
Patrol and the Fire District. I hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an
action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of
Supervisors on the date shown.
