These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low- income children throughout Contra Costa County. BACKGROUND: On November 14, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved a contract with First Baptist Church of Pittsburg to continue as the County's Head Start Delegate Agency and provide early care and education services in the East County community. Approval of that contract provides services to 257 program eligible children ages three (3) to five (5) years both for full-day and part-day childcare. This proposed amendment increases the funds for this contract and passes on to the delegate agency the FY 2007 cost-of-living adjustment received by the County from the Administration for Children and Families (ACF).
