HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09262006 - 06-579 71IN THE MATTER OF HONORING _.RESOLUTION_.NO.-20.06/579 CHIEF NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR SUSAN CEVASCO �}(�50 Assr9ne� TO COMMEMORATE HER RETIREMENT WHEREAS, Sue Cevasco is retiring from the Office of thePublic Defender after thirty-three years of exemplary service to the Department; and WHEREAS, Sue Cevasco, a member of the 1969 Alhambra High graduating class, began her career with Contra Costa County in 1970 (Employee No. 21370) as a typist clerk at the County Hospital; and WHEREAS, Sue Cevasco then worked as a"Clerk Typrst.in"one of our three Green Street bungalows preparing documents (and CARBON copies) ir%the--files of that era; and WHEREAS, Sue Cevasco, early in"her careers welcomed challenges to"learn tasks in statistics, accounting and how to get things done in County governin6ilt and w WHEREAS, Sue C 11 evasco; rn the mid.1980.,s, when few hadh"eard of a inan named,13i11 Gates, developed ...... an early-7adopter interest iii, and facility at, learning computer soft`vare piogiains, and evolved into the most knowledgeable employee in the Department regarding the technology,of computers, word processing and databases; and WHEREAS, Sue Cevasco's intimate knowledge of county payroll, purchasrrig;and other"administrative processes made-her the fount of all knowledge for any task ielated'-to the we11-being of the Department's staff and to`the operational� elationship of the Department to other departments; and WHEREAS;"Sue Cevasco gurded the 1Department upthe„'technology,;ladder from personal computers intoa network that serves more,than 150 users.."arid`.interfaces with riuznerous'other county and state computer system"s; and WHEREAS; Sue Cevasco embracedtaking coursework to become a network=adzntnisttator and has served as the Depaitment's,chief network adixzrrustrator for the,past seven years; and WHEREAS; Sue.Cevasco has devoted a third of a century.tI the`"Office of the Public Defender, provided invaluable assistance intthe management of the""Dep,artinent, s"uppo'ted;arid taught hundreds of loyees ers to assist in co pzntttnent, supported the work of the,D pa ttnn on behalf ofthousands dedication and ands of indigent clients who have needed legal"representatzon;`'and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Boar""d of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa acknowledges and thanks Sue Cevasco for her dedicated service to the Office of the Public.
