HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09022004 - 70-796 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNT', STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of ) Abolishing Moraga ) RESOLUTION NO. 70/796 Fire Protection ) District Zone No . 1 ) (H. & S .Code §13997) RESOLUTION ABOLISHING MORAGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT ZONE NO. 1 Tie Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES' THAT: On Tuesday , October 13, 1970,; this; Board passed and ,adopted Resolution No. 70/663 giving notice of intention to abolish Moraga: rise Protection District Zone No. 1. Pursuant to Resolution No . 70/6163, on November 24, 1970, this Board held a public hearing on the proposed abolition of the said Zone No. 1 which is described in Exhibit "A" , attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein. Notice of said hearing was given as required by law. At, the hearing this Board heard, the testimony of all interested persons or taxpayers for or against the abolition of said Zone No. 1, Moraga Fire Protection District Zone No . 1 was created from a portion of the Eastern Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on July 27, 1965, by Board Resolution No . 4220 . On July 1, 1968, a portion of the Eastern Contra Costa County Fire Protection District not including Zone No;. 1 was severed from the Eastern Contra Costa County Fire Protection District pursuant to a reorganization and is now named Eastern Contra Costa Fire Protection District. The former Eastern Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was renamed the Moraga. Fire Protection District on July 9, 1968, by Board, Resolution No. 68/449. The Moraga Fire Protection District now includes Zone No. 1. This Board hereby finds that the public interest and necessity set forth In said Resolution No. 4220 no longer exists because the territory included within the zone is now withinthe Moraga Fire Protection District which provides the desired service. The M.oraga Fire Protection District Zone No . 1 is hereby abolished'pursuant to the Fire' Protection District Law (Fart 2. 7 of Division 12 of the Health and Safety Code ) . PASSED AND ADOPTED on November 24, 1970, by this Board. Costa County to its intersection with the southern line of Orinda, County Fire Protection District; thence Northeasterly, Southeasterly, and Northerly along the southern and eastern boundary of said Orinda County Fire Ai triet to the southern line of the Rancho Acalanss being the southern boundary of the Lafayette Fire District; thence Easterly and Southerly along the southern boundary of the Lafayette Fire District to the northern line of Section 16, Township One South, Range Two West, thence Easterly along the northern line of Section ib to the northeastern corner thereof, thence Southerly along the eastern line of said Section lb to the west quarter corner of Section 15, Township One South, Range Two West, thence Easterly along the east-west mid-section line of Section 15 to the center of said Section; thea Southerly along the north-south mid-section line of Section 15 to the south quarter corner thereof, being the north quarter corner of Section 22, Township One South, Range Two West; thence .Easterly along the northern line of Section 22, to the northeastern darner thereof; thence Southerly along the eastern lines of Sections 22, 27, and 34, Township One South, Range Two West, to 'they boundary line of Contra Costa County, the point of beginning.
