NOTICE OF. INTENTION TO ABOLI,SH.
MORAGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT ZONE NO. 1.
The Board of Supervisors . of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
This Board herebydetermines that 'pursuant' to the Fire,
Protection District Law (Part 2 . 7 of Division 12 of the Health
and Safety Cade) it proposes to abolish Moraga Fire Protection
District Zone No. 1 . The reason for the proposed abolishment Is
that the public interest and necessity for a zone no longer exists,.
Moraga Fire Protection District Zone No. 1 was created from
a portion of the Eastern Contra Costa County Fire Protection
District on July 27, 1965 , by Board Resolution No . 4220. On
July 1, 1968 , a portion of the Eastern Contra Costa> County Fire
Protection District not including Zone No . ,1 was severed from the
.astern Centra Costa County Fire Protection District pursuant to
a reorganization and, is now named Eastern Contra.' Costa Fire
Protection District . The Former Eastern Contra Costa County Fire
Protection District was renamed the Moraga Fire Protection District
on July 9 , 1968 , by Board .Resolution No. 68/449. The Moraga Fire;
Protection District noir. includes Zane No. 1. The exterior
boundaries of the zone proposed to be abolished are as described
in Exhibit "A"_, attached hereto and by this reference incorporated
herein,
At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24 , 1970, in the Chambers of
the Board of Supervisors , Administration Building, Martinez ,
California, this Board will conduct a public hearing' on the proposed
abolition of said sone.''
The Clerk of this Board is hereby directed to publish the text
of this resolution once a week for three successive weeks in the
"Orinda Sun" a newspaper of general circulation published in this
County and circulated in the territory wherein the zone proposed to
be abolished is situated. The Clerk of this Board is also dir=ected
to post the text of this resolution on the bulletin board of this
Boar(: at Least 21 days, prior to the hearing date , and such posting,
shall continue to the time of thelvaring.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on October 13, 1970, by this Board .

EXHIBIT "A"
Beginning at the interjection of the Southern boundary line
of Contra Costa County with the eastern line of Section ',34,
Township One South, Range Two West, Mount Diablo Bane and Meridian;
thence Westerly and Northwesterly along said southern boundary
line of Contra Costa County to its intersection with the southern
line of Orinda County Fire Protection District; then e, Northeasterly,
Southeasterly, and Northerly along the southern and eastern boundary
of said Or nds: County Fire District to the southern lineof the
Rancho Acalanes being the southern boundary of the Lafayette Fire
District; thence Easterly and Southerly along the southern boundary
of the Lafayette Fire Distriot to the northern line of Seetion ;1b,
Township One South, Range Two West; thence Easterly along the
northern line of Section lb to the northeastern corner thereof",
thence Southerly along the eastern line of said Section lb to the
west quarter corner of Section 15, Township One South, Range Two
West; thence Easterly Tong the east-west mid-section line of
Section 15 to the center of said Section; then Southerly along the
north-south: mid-section line of Section 15 to the south quarter
corner thereof, being the north quarter ;corner of Section 22,
Township One :South, Range Two W'east, thence Easterly along the
northern line of Section 22, to, the northeastern corner thereof;
thence Southerly along the eastern lines of Sections 22, 27, and
34, Township One South, Range Two West, to the boundary line of
Contra Costa County, the point of beginning.
