HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09132004 - 71-722 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Endorsing } California State Senate } RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/722 Resolution Number 226. } } WHEREAS the California State Senate has adapted Resolution Number226, requesting the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, the Chancellor of the 'California State Colleges and the President of the University of California,_ together with the State Librarian, to study the feasibility of coordinating the development of all publicly-supported libraries in the state, relating the development of all publicly- supported libraries of the state to the cooperative public library systema established pursuant to Sections 27111 to 271 .6, inclusive, of the Education Code , and providing fund's to the public library systema of the ;state on a basis which, is consistent with their actual costs and their permanent nature; and WHEREAS said Senate Resolution Number 226 requests that the findings and results of such study be reported to the California State senate on or before March 1, 1972; and. WHEREAS the County Librarian strongly recommends that the Board support Senate Resolution Number 226, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 'OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RESOLVED that it hereby ENDORSES Senate Resolution Number 226, as recommended b, the County Librarian. PASSER and ADOPTED this 2nd day of November, 1971 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, J. P. Kenny. NOES : None. ABSENT; Supervisor E. A.
