HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09132004 - 71-641 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Application of } East Bay 'Regional Park District } for Release of San Pablo Ridge RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/64; NIKE Site for District Park Purposes. } WHEREAS the East Bay Regional Park District has made application to the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation, U. S. Department of Interior and the U. S. General Services Administration for the release of the surplus federal San Pablo Ridge NIKE Site in Contra Costa County for district park purposes; and WHEREAS said NIKE Site may be made an integral part of the abutting Tilden Regional Park of said District and also the Wildcat Canyon Regional Park of said District and is accessible only over a roadway located within the Tilden Regional Park; and WHEREAS said NIKE Site has great scenic value and its highest and best use is for regional park and open space purposes and there is an urgent need to acquire additional properties for such purposes in the public interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVEDthat it endorses the aforesaid application of the East Bay Regional. Park District and urges federal authorities to release i4 fee the San Pablo Ridge NIKE Site (land and buildings) to the District at the earliest practicable date. PASSED and ADOPTED this 28th day of September, 1971, by the following vote of the Board. AYES: Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J. P. Kenny. NOES.- None.
