HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-583 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF COl'dTJ�iA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALI FORNIA In the Matter of Providing } Commitments Required for } Partic,.xpation in the } RESOLUTION NUMBER. 71/583 Emergency Errxp:Loyment Act } for, 1971. } 1.THJiEAS the Board of Supervisors has this date considered the recommendations of the County Administrator on an Emergency E-mplorment Act distribution forrr3ula and on the county positions reem-urended for funding under said employment program; and ,HM3EAS Contra. Costa County is required under Title 29, Sub-Title A, Part 55.6 of the Code of Federal Regulations to submit with the final grant application its cocranitments provided within this code section; NON', THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVIE, 3 that this Board agrees that; 1. The Program Agent will give special considera- tion to the filling of jobs which provide for advancement or suitable continued ezrployment to the maximum extent feasible; and 2. The public service job, provided under this program should be in occupational fields which are most likely to expand within the public or private sector as the unemployment rate recedes; and 3. Due consideration will be given to persons who have participated in manpower training programs; and 4. The Program Agent will have the goal of placing one half the participants in continuing positirsris financed from funds other than grants provided under aforesaid act; and 5. At the completion of the program the Program Agent will offer each parson appropriate assistance in securing placement in the occupation he chooses; and 0. The Program Agent will, to the extent feasible, .maintain :linkages .with manpower programs; and 7. The Prograrrl Agent will: not discriminate with respect to any employee of the 'program or any applicant for participation. in the prugran, because of race , creed, color or national origin, sex, age, political affiliation or beliefs and that no program under the act will involve political activities and RESOLUTION NU14BER 71/ c;3 BE IT FURTHER RESCLVEtD that authorization is granted for submission of a Preliminary Final Application pursuant to the recommendat-ions of the County Administrator, in order to ,,feet the September 1.0, 1971 deadline established by the U. S. Department of Labor . PASSED and ADOPTED on September 7, 1971 by the follow- ing vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess , E. A. Linsc he id, J. P. fenny.
