HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-568 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA 'COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the 1971 ) United Bay Area Crusade. � RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/568 WHEREAS the United Bay 'Area Crusade is about to 'begin its 1971 campaign for funds; and 14MEAS the crusade will, if successfully conducted,, provide financing for a large number of community organizations having extremely desirable objectives; and WHEREAS these objectives include such commendable purposes as the prevention of illness, indigency, and delinquency, and aid to the sick and needy; and WHEREAS employees of Contra Costa County and other governmental entities within the county have been requested to participate actively in the 1971 campaign of the United Bay Area Crusade and contribute to the funds which the Crusade uses to support Financially community organiza- tions; and WHEREAS this Board of Supervisors heartily endorses the work of the United Bay Area Crusade; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that Agricultural Commissioner A. L. Seeley is designated as Chairman for the Crusade campaign among county employees; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that James P. Kenny, Chairman, Board of Supervisors, is designated to serve as Honorary Chairman for the 1971 Crusade campaign among all county government employees in Contra Costa County, pursuant to the request of the United Bay Area Crusade organiza- tion; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all county department heads are urged to cooperate with Supervisor Kenny and .Agricultural Connssioner Seeley by working actively in support of the United Bay Area Crusade; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following county employees are appointed to acquaint their fellow employees with the 1971 United Say Area Crusade Program and the desirable services rendered by the agencies supported financially by the Crusade: Department Department Head Department Chairman Board of Supervisors J.
