WHEREAS the incidence of venereal disease has increased considerably in recent ,years and has again become a serious problem in Contra Costa County, throughout the state and nationwide; and WHEREAS the cost of financing venereal disease programs is almost entirely a local responsibility with very limited assistance from the federal and state governments* and. WHEREAS Contra Costa County is desirous of instituting a broad scale, concerted effort to effectively reduce venereal disease NOW, THEREFORE, BE: IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RESOLVED that the California representatives in the Congress of the United' States, and the county representatives in the California State Legislature are USED to seek and support legislation to provide financial assistance to local government to combat venereal disease. PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of August, 1971 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linschei,d, J. P. Kenny, NOES: None. ABSENT: Supervisor A.
