HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-521 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the } Passing of Lieutenant RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/521 Colonel Gerald Linscheid. ) WHEREAS this Board has learned with regret of the recent passing of Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Linscheid, brother of Supervisor Edmund A. Linscheid; and WHEREAS Lieutenant Colonel Linscheid was a native of Pittsburg, where he attended local schools and later obtained his higher education at Compton College and the University of the Pacific; and WHEREAS he left his college studies in 1941 to become a bomber pilot in the United States Air Farce during World War II and continued in an Air Force career for nearly three decades; and WHEREAS Lieutenant Colonel Linscheid was selected for special advanced training in recognition of his high value to the United States Air Force; was the recipient of many awards during his flying career for distinguished military service in many parts of the world, and reflected great credit upon his native county in the fine tradition of the Linscheid family; NOW, ,THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it expresses deep regret on the passing of Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Linscheid; extends its deepest sympathy to his wife, his son and daughter, his father and his 'mother, his brothers, and his sisters; and adjourns its official meeting on this date in his memory. PASSED and ADOPTED by the Board this 14th day of August, 1971. RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/521
