HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-460 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA C(XJNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Reaffirming Position with Respect to Property ) RESOLUTION NO. 71/460 Tax Reform. ) WHEREAS this Board continues to be seriously concerned with the increasing fiscal demands placed upon counties as the result of state legislative and administrative actions and the unavoidable consequent need to impose additional burdens upon property taxpayers; and WHEREAS the county tax base, which is mach more restricted than the broad tax base of the State of California, cannot support fiscal shifts from the state to the county; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY„ CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it REAFFIRMS its opposition to any and all legislation which will have the fiscal effect of imposing an additional tax burden upon property taxpayers, and urges the counter representatives in the California State Legislature to work 'vigorously in support of property tax reform. PASSED and ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 1971 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. F. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linsche d, J. P. Kenny. NOES: None. ABSENT: None.
