HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-427 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Endorsing ) Passage of Senate Bill RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/427 Number 1068. } WHEREAS Senator John A. Nejedly has introduced Senate Bill Number 1068 for consideration by the 1971 California State Legislature; and WHEREAS Senate Bill Number 1068 amends Section 987.2 of the California Pena. Code to provide that in lieu of court fixing fees and expenses, a county board of supervisors may contract for services of assigned counsel for indigents in criminal cases; and WHEREAS this Board has considered the provisions of said bill and finds that it may be desirable to utilize such contractural arrangements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVE? that it ENDORSES passage of Senate Bill Number 1066, and urges its representatives in the California State Legislature to vigorously support the passage of said bill.. PASSED and ADOPTED this 29th day of June, 1971 by the following vote of the Board. AYES: Supervisors A. M. bias, J. E. Moriarty, NOES W. N. Boggess, J. P. Kenny. NOES: hone. ABSENT: Supervisor E,; A.
