Abatement Resolution File Noe 1-D-2197 Page 1 of 7 #13. 2-70' 300 RESOLUTION NO. 71/420 WHEREAS the Board having considered the evidence presented by said Building Inspector and all other interested parties, the following appears and this Board now finds that said building(s) and/or improvement(a (are) sub- standard as defined in Sections H-1001 and H-1002 of the Uniform Building Cade, Volume III, by reason of the following deficiencies which are hereby found to exists See "Exhibit A" attached hereto which is incorporated herein by reference. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that said building(s) and/or improvement(s) {o(are) substandard and (6W(are) declared to be a public nuisance and the owners thereof are hereby ordered to abate said nuisance within 30 days after a copy of this resolution, together with notice thereof, has been posted to said property. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the conclusion of this Board that said building(s) and/or improvement(s) cannot be reconstructed or repaired in a manner so as to comply with the provisions of Article 89 Chapter 9 of Title VIII of the California Administrative Code or the Uniform Building Code, Volume III, as incorporated in the Contra Costa County Ordinance Code and therefore said building(s) and/or improvament(s) must be razed and removed. IT IS FURTHER OR== that if said nuisance is not abated within the time allowed, said nuisance will be abated by the Building Inspector of this count , and the expense thereof made a lien upon the land upon which said build- ing(sj and/or improvement(s) ,&r)(are) located. Need change of electric service. Provide a minimum of 100 amp. building service capacity with a single main disconnect. Use dead front type electric panel boxes and the waterproof type where exposed to moisture conditions. 2. Provide the minimum electric code requirements for circuits, including spares. 3. Water receptacle outlets (3-prong, type) shall be so located that there will be no useable wall space over 6' -0 from an outlet. 4. splicing of conductors shall be done in appropriate boxes and be accessible. Splicing of conductors in electric panels is not approved. 5. Conductors shall be properly protected from physical damage and properly supported. See garage and subfloor areas as ex- amples of non-compliance. 6. Boxes shall have conductor clamps and bushings where required. 7. Receptacle outlets shall be made up for circuit continuity in- dependent of individual receptacles . 8. Use electric boxes appropriate to the number of conductors served. 9. Provide an appropriate primary ground conductor and attach to the water supply pipe system of he house and to a driven ground where readily accessible. 14 Provide overcurrent devices: appropriate to the conductor, outlet, or equipment served. 11. Plumbing 1 . S-traps are not approved and approved vents shall be in- stalled to prevent siphonage. Only eine plumbing vent was observed and it was too small and improperly terminates. 2. Cl.eanouts are required, at upper terminal, at wastes over five feet in length, at lower end on the outside of the building, and changes of directions over 451 or one 450 offset. 3. t:'ater pipe fittings are not approved for use in a waste system. Use directional fittings of correct material in an approved Durham drainage system. 4. Galvanized waste piping, or vents shall not be used below or within b'Y of grade. 5. Waste drain for kitchen sink is too small and shalt be a mini- mum of 2" pipe in a Durham drainage system. 5. See water heater vent which is also not connected to vertical vent. 2. Type "B" vents and 'caps :shall be used at water heater and heating furnace, maintain mtmimuzm clearance to combustible materi.hl., be properly supported, and properly terminate. 3. An approved gravity vent 'or mechanical fan shall be provided over the cooking area in the kitchen.. 4. Unwrapped gas lines are not approved below or within 6" of grade. See floor furnace area. 5. Ground joint unions are not permitted in the middle of gas pipe runs. See area under kitchen door. b. Provide approved clearance to ground for floor furnace now adjacent to grade. B 1.
