WHEREAS the County Administrator and the County Medical Director have recommended that the Board support the passage of Assembly Bill 3000 which has been introduced in the 1971 Session of the California State Legislature; and WHEREAS Assembly Bill 3000 eliminates the Medi-Cal Act and provides instead for each county to establish a. Cal-Care program for public assistance recipients, all medically needy individuals qualifying for federal. financial participation and ether medically needy indvi.duals, and prescribes eligibility and scope of services therefor; and WHEREAS Assembly Bill 3000 creates a State Health Care Commission in the California Human Relations Agency to review and approve county Cal-Care programs under standards established by the csazzmiss ion; and: WHEREAS the cost of care of public assistance recipients would. be shared 90 percent by the State and 10 percent by the counties for those costs which are not reimbursed by the federal government; and. WHEREAS the County Supervisors Association of California. urges all county boards of supervisors to support Assembly Bill 3000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that .it ENDORSES passage of Assembly Bill 3000. PASSED and .ADOPTED this 22nd day of June, 1971 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors A. M. Bias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J. P. Kenny. NOES: None.
