UTION No. 71/268 of the San Francisco Bay Area. } AREAS Contra Costa County of the State of California hasp over a tang period of time shorn concern for the orderly development of the natural resources of the San Prancisco Bay area in order to provide for the well 'being of its citizens,; and WMIREAS the County has shown concern for the appropriate preservation of the environmental amenities of the Bay Area and for the maintenance of a proper ecological balance in the waters of the estuary, and WHEREAS deep water navigation has been an important aspect of the prosperity of the Bay Area throughout its history; and WNMS a balanced approach to the myriad of interrelated factors should be made in a broad 'study of future navigation needs giving particular emphasis to the environmental factors; and WTZR'1l AS the harps of Ingineers has been authorized by a resolution of the Committee on Public Works, House of Representa- tives., epre enta-tives, on October 19, 1967 (Navigation Docket #2635) to make such a study; and WHEREAS. the Board of Supervisors by Resolution Io 70/406 dated July 7x 1970 resolved to support the continuation of this In-Depth Navigation Study and to cooperate in .any Way possible to provide data for the use of said. Study, NOW, THMur RE, BE IT RESOLVE!) that the Board: of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, State of California, urgers the Congress of the United States and; the President to provide funds to insure orderly progress in this :study in the amount of 2000CCC for fiscal year 1972 for the aforesaid In-Depth Study.
