HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-255 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Inclusion of } the Jahn Marsh Home in the } RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/255 National Register of Historic } Places. ) } WHEREAS the John Marsh Home , located approximately eight miles southwest of the City of Brentwood in Contra Costa County,, is historically significant to Contra Costs County, to the State of California and to the nation; and WHEREAS the home is directly associated with the life of John Marsh, who is credited with establishing the first effective agricultural development, first fort, first medical facility, and first center of promotional advertising in the San Joanuin Valley; and WHEREAS the Contra Costa County Recreation and Natural Resources Commission has carefully considered a list of sites and buildings which are significant to the history of Contra Costa County and the State of California for submission to the California Historical Landmarks Advisory Committee and for possible inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places; and having heretofore determined that the John Marsh Home meets the criteria established for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY* CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that the Director of the State Department of Parks and Recreation and the California Historical Landmarks Advisory Committee are strongly urged to recommend the inclusion of the Jahn Marsh Home in the National Register of Historic Places. PASSED and ADOPTED this 13th day of April, 1971 by the following vote of the Berard: AYES : Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J. P. Kenny. NOES: None.
