HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09102004 - 71-254 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the utter of } Providing Temporary } RESOLUTION NO. 71/25 Security Jaid. Facilities. } } WHEREAS the County Administrator has brought to the attention of this Board the need to provide as quickly as possible tonporary security Jail facilities to relieve overcrowding in the county Jail; and WHEREAS the County Administrator has pointed out that plans and specifications for a 'temporary security facility at the Rehabilitation Center of the Office of the County Sheriff had been developed by the Publics Works Department and. that said plans are being processed for clearance'' by state authorities; and WHEREAS the County Administrator has stated in connection therewith that the time required to construct a new county Jail within , the Counter Civic Center as, contemplated, would be approximately three years and that 'in the interim it is essential that temporary security Jail facilities be provided; and WHERFAS the County Administrator has recommended that an appropriation adjustment in the mount of 150,,000 'be Made 'ia e- iately to coves the cost of aforesaid temporary security Jail facilities (Transfer from Account Number 097-7711-703 to Account Number 097-7711-656); and WHEREAS the members of the Board are in agreement that temporary security Jail facilities at the Rehabilitation Center of the Office of the ,County Sboriff be provided pending the construction of a new county Jail within the County_ Civic Canters NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that the recom. mendation of the County Administrator is approved and the Public Works Department is directed to proceed as rapidly as practicable to have, the aforesaid temporary security jail facilities constructed.
