RESOLUTION ORDERING
REORGANIZATION BY DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
FROM THE SAN RAMON FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND
CONCURRENT ANNEXATION OF THE SAME TERRITORY TO THE
VALLEY COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
On Tuesday, February 23, 1971, this Board adopted Resolution
No. 71/131 initiating proceedings for the reorganization by
detachment of certain territory, described in Exhibit "A" .
attached hereto and by this reference Incorporated herein, from
the San Ramon Fire Protection District and concurrent annexation
of the same territory to the Valley Community Services District,
a District located In both Contra Costa and Alameda Counties .
Contra Costa County was found to be the principal county.
A resolution of application for the proposed reorganiza-
tion was filed by the Valley Community Services District with
the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission
on January 11, 1971. The reasons for the proposed reorganiza-
tion are to enable the territory to obtain sewer services. and
to avoid dual taxation for fire protection services .
The Local Agency Formation Commission, on February 3, 1971,
approved the application subject to the following terms and
conditions :
(a) The boundary of the proposed reorganization is to be
as described in attached Exhibit "A. "
(b) Upon annexation of the territory to the Valley
Community Services District, that territory shall
be subject to applicable provisions of the district
ordinances.
The Commission assigned the proposal designation as "Gentry
No. 6 Boundary Reorganization. "
This Board's Resolution No. 71/131 fixed 10:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 6, 1971, in the Chambers of the Board of Super-
visors, Administration Building, Martinez, California, as the

time and place for a public hearing on the proposed reorgani-
zation.
eorgan --zation. Notice of said hearing was duly given by (1) publication
in the "Contra Costa Times ,;" (2) posting on the Board's bulletin
board, and (3) mailing 'notice to all persons, counties, 'cities ,
or districts which had filed a written request for special notice
with the Clerk of the Board. The Board, at the time and place
set for the hearing, heard the determination of the Local Agency
Formation Commission read aloud, called for evidence or protests
as provided for by Government Code 556434 , and heard and duly con-
sidered such evidence and pretests .
This Board hereby finds that this proposed reorganization
is in the best interest of the people of the said districts and
that no resident of either filed a written protest. This Beard
hereby also findst at the territory to he annexed and detached
is inhabited.
This Board orders this reorganization without election and
without being subject to confirmation by the voters .
The Clerk shall file his certificate of completion with the
Secretary of State in accordance with Government Code §56451.
After receipt of the Secretary of State's certificate of
filing for this matter,> the Clerk is directed to record a counter-
part original of the Clerk's certificate of completion and the
original or counterpart original of the Secretary of State's
certificate of filing with the Contra Costa County Recorder in
accordance with Government Code; §56453.
