HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 08312004 - 70-650 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of ) State Route 93. t} RF'SOLU` ION NUMBER 70/650 WHEREAS route location studies for the Portion of State Route 93 proposed to extend through Richmond, San Pablo and El Sobrante were initiated in 1961; and WHEREAS said studies were tabled indefinitely in 1965 because, a route' acceptable to all local jurisdictions could not be found, and WHEREAS, realizing the importance and necessity of determin- ing a location for said route , and on the request of Supervisor A. M. Dias this Board on November 12, 1969 authorized 'Supervisor Dias and Supervisor J. P. Kenny to appoint a committee of elected officials to find a route acceptable to all local jurisdictions, and a technical committee to assist with staff support; and WHEREAS the technical committee, consisting of staff members from the Public Works and Planning Departments of the cities of Richmond and San Pablo, Contra Costa County, and the State Division of Highways, developed a new plan, as detailed on a map currently on filein the County Public Works Department-, and WHEREAS said new plan was then submitted by the technical committee, with its favorable recommendation, to the elected officials committee for its consideration; and WHEREAS the City Councils of the cities of Richmond and Sean Pablo are reported to be in general agreement with the concepts embodied in said plan; and WHEREAS the plan has also been discussed with and received favorable reaction tram the City of Pinola, as well as the communities of EI Sobran'te, Mont'alvi.n Manor, North Richmond and Leroy Heights-, NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA., CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it approves in principle the new plan recommended by the aforesaid committees. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a. copy of the aforesaid plan be transmitted by the County Public Works Department to the State Division of Highways with the request that the Division reopen the route location proceedings, taking due cognizance of the recom- mendations ecom-me dations of the above-named committees, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 1970 by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, E. A. Linscheid, T. J. Coll. NOES : None. ABSENT. None. RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/650
