RESOLUTIONOF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

WHEREAS, the City Council (hereinafter sometimes
called the "Council") of the City of Pinole (hereinafter
called the "City") proposes to hold a special municipal
bond election in the City on Tuesday, November 3 , 1970 ,
and has requested the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County (hereinafter called the "County„) to order the
consolidation of said special municipal bond election with
the State of California General. Election to be held in
the State of California and in the County on Tuesday,
November 3, 1970, and has further authorized the Board
of Supervisors of the County to canvass or cause to be
canvassed the returns of said special municipal bond
election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors of Contra Costa County, as fol lows
1. The special municipal bond election to be
held in the City on Tuesday, November 3, 1970, at which
there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the
City the following measure, to wit:

MEASURE { j : Shall the City of
(Sewage Treatment Pinole incur a bonded
Plant Improvements) indebtedness in the
principal amount of
$1, 820,000 for the
acquisition, construction and completion
of the following municipal improvement, to
wit: Sewage treatment plant improvements ,
consisting of the addition of primary and
secondary sedimentation tanks , aeration
tanks , blower building, chlorination tank,
and sludge digestion and disposal facilities,
together with necessary pipes, pumps ,
fittings, machinery and control equipment,
and other works , property or structures
necessary or convenient for sewage treatment
plant improvementsfor the City of Pinole?
shall be, and the same is hereby ordered to be, consolidated
with the State of California General Election to be held
throughout the State of California, including the County and
the City, on Tuesday, November 3, 1930.
2. The returns of said special municipal bond
election shall be canvassed or caused to be canvassed by
the Board of Supervisors of the County in accordance with
the request of the 'Council of the City and said special
municipal bond election and said general election shall be
held within the City in all respects as though there were
only one election. Said City measure hereinabove set forth
shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be used at
said election insofar as the same is held within the City.
The returns of said special municipal band election, when
canvassed, shall be reported by the Board of Supervisors
of the County to the Council of the City.

3. The County Clerk is hereby ordered and
directed to provide within the City the election precincts ,
polling places and voting booths for each of said elections
so consolidated, which in each case shall be the same, and
there shall be only one set of election officers in each of
said precincts . The County Clerk is hereby further ordered
and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be used
at said consolidated general election and special municipal
bond election said measure hereinabove set forth. The
County Clark is further ordered and directed (i) to set
forth on all sample ballots relating to said consolidated
elections , to be mailed to the qualified electors of the
City, said measure hereinabove set forth and to mail with
said sample ballots to said electors printed copies of the
tax rate statement and the arguments (if any) for and
against said measure, and (ii) to provide absent voter
ballots for said general election and said special munici-
pal band election consolidated therewith for use by the
qualified electors of the City who may be entitled: thereto,
in the manner provided by law. The County Clerk is further
authorized to charge the City the additional expense of
printing upon the sample and official ballots for use in
the City said measure hereinabove set forth to be submitted
to the qualified electors of the City at said consolidated
election's , and such other incidental expenses as may be

incurred by reason of this order of consolidation.
