TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
FROM: M. G. Wingett, County Administrator Contra
CQS♦a
DATE: February 6, 1984 County
SUBJECT: Legislation: AB 2264 (Moorhead)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a position of support for AB 2264.
BACKGROUND:
AB 2264, by Assemblywoman Moorhead, would require the State Department of Health
Services, to the extent permitted by federal law or after obtaining an appropriate
federal waiver, to develop and implement a program to divide their annual inspections
of long-term health care facilities into three (3) or more segments in order to provide
for more frequent visitations to such facilities.
To the extent that AB 2264 would require that State staff be in long-term health care
facilities more often, it is `consistent with existing Board policy and, therefore,
deserves the support of the Board of Supervisors.
