RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL
TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR FORMATION
OF A COUNTY SERVICE AREA IN THE MORAGA
AREA
The Board. of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
This Board hereby determines that pursuant to the Knox-Nisbet
Act (commencing with Section 54773) of the Government Code , it
proposes to initiate proceedings for the formation of a County
ServIce Area it the Moraga Area . The Board has received a peti-
tion requesting such action . This petition was submitted by the
Parks for Morags , Inc . on July 29 , 1970. The exterior boundaries
of the area proposed to be formed are as 'described in Exhibit "A"
and as shown in the map labeled as Exhibit "B" , both of which
exhibits are attached hereto and by reference incorporated herein.
The reason for this application is to provide the area with
local perk recreation or parkway facilities and services .
The proposed. County Service Area will consist of portions
of the unincorporated territory of the County. The name or names
of the districts or cities which would be affected by this appli-
cation are as feel loos :
Moraga Fire Protection District
Contra Costa County Flood Control and Fater
Conservation District
Contra Costa Mosquito Abatement District No. 1
East Bay Regional. Park District
Central Contra Costa Unitary District
Last Bay Municipal Utility District
Bay Area Rapid Transit District
City of Lafayette
IT IS HEREBY REQUESTED that the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Contra Costa County take all. steps necessary to
approve the proposal of the Board. of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County and that Proceedings to form a County Service Area be
initiated. The persons who are to be furnished with copies of
the Executive Officer' s report and who are to be given mailed
notice of hearing are Thomas J. Coll., Chairman of the Board of
Supervisors of Contra Costa County, Supervisor James E. Moriarty ,
and Mr. Amos E. Gardner, Chairman County'/Civic Af'f'airs , Parks
for Moraga , Inc .

line of Contra Costa Colanty with the eastern line of Section
34, Totrnshin One South, Range Two Wast, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian;_ thence Westerly along said southern boundary line of
Contra Costa, County to the northeastern boundary of Tract No. 2
of the Rrncho Laguna De Los Palos Colorados thence Northwesterly
