IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Patter of the Retirement ) of the Right Reverend Monsignor RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/456 Laurence F. Hennessy, Pastor, ) Queen of All Saints Parish, ) Concord, California. } } WHEREAS this Board has been apprised of the retirement of the Right Reverend Monsignor Laurence F. Hennessy, Pastor, Queen of All Saints Parish, Concord, California; and WHEREAS Monsignor Hennessy has served faithfully and well the people of his parish and of the community of Concord in his role as pastor for three decades; and WHEREAS during his pastorship, Monsignor Hennessy fostered the growth of a great populous garish,, which over the years has been subdivided to farm four additional flourishing parishes, and developed a fine Queen of All Saints parish complex inclusive of a Catholic school, which was the first such school in Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS his community sof Concord., to which he has made significant contributions, has grown during his thirty years of residence there, from a small town with some 1,500 people to a large city with a population of nearly 9O,OOf3; and WHEREAS Monsignor Hennessy is widely known as a great spiritual leader, a humanecontributor of material assistance to the needy, an.. effective administrator of church affairs, and a cooperative participant in community activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it extends to the Right Reverend Monsignor Laurence F. Hennessy its sincere compliments on his outstanding role as a spiritual and community leader, its deep appreciation of his innumerable contributions to the well being of the people of the City of Concord and the County of Contra Costa, and its best wishes for a long and contented life in retirement during which he may enjoy the favor of the countless persons to whom he gave dedicated attention, guidance, and assistance.
