HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 08042003 - 70-338 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Passing } of Mr. Joseph Robrecht, Jr. RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/338 WHEREAS this Board has been appriaed of the passing of Mr. Joseph Robrecht, Jr. on June 7, 1970; and WHEREAS Mr. Robrecht, a graduate of Alhambra High School and the University of California, entered the employ of Contra Costa County in 1948 in the capacity of Field Probation Officer and advanced, progressively to the position of Senior Probation Supervisor in charge of all adult probation service; and WHEREAS Mr. Robrecht over the years was responsible for the counseling and supervision of thousandsof persons in trouble and with firmness tempered with compassion directed an untold number ofthem back to acceptable roles in society and to favor with their families and their communities ; and WHEREAS Mr. Robrecht served with distinction in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict and later rendered valuable service as a reserve officer until his retirement with the rank of Commander; and WHEREAS Mr. Robrecht was active in his church and community affairs being a member and leader in organizations such as the Martinez Ledge Number 41, F. & A. M. , American Field Service, Governing Board of the Camp Fire Girls , and the Central County' University of California Alumni. Group; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it expresses deep regret upon the passing of Mr. Joseph Robreoht, Jr. , extends to his wife Barbara and the ether members of his family its sincere sympathy, hopes that their grief may be allayed by the knowledge that he left for those who follow him an outstanding record of public and community service, and closes this official meeting in his memory. PASSED and ADOPTED this 9th day of June, 1970, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors J. P. Kenny, A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, E. A. L ,nstheid, T. J. Coll. NOES: Dona. ABSENT: None.
