RESOLUTION NUMBER 70/329 } WHEREAS Assembly Ball. Number 2061 is now receiving the attention of the California. State Legislature; and WHEREAS said bill provides that hearings for applicants for public social services, or recipients of public social services , who are dissatisfied with county actions shall" be conducted by a hearing officer of the Office of Administrative Procedure rather than a referee of the State Department of Social. Welfare; and WHEREAS the County Welfare Director has indicated that the proposed change in hearing procedures may result in administra- tive complications for county agencies and, accordingly, recommends that passage of. Assembly Bill Number 2061 be opposed by Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS the Board, after considering said matter, is in agreement with the recomendation of the County Welfare Director, NOW, TH_g2EFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY Or CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it opposes the passage of Assembly Bill Number 2061 and urges its representa- tives in the California State Legislature to work vigorously to prevent enactment of said bill into law.
