APPOINT Supervisor John Gioia as the County's representative to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sponsored Regional Aviation Work Group. 2. UPDATE Attachment II to reflect this appointment and Attachment I to reflect the July 17, 2001 appointments of Supervisors Gerber and Glover to the Executive Governing Committee of the Joint Powers Authority established to oversee development of the Habitat Conservation Plan. 3. INDICATE that this Resolution supersedes in its entirety the Resolution No. 2001/267, adopted by the Board on June 26, 2001. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County has been invited to participate in a work group that is being formed to address air traffic issues affecting Bay Area counties. The work group, comprising a policy body of Supervisors representing each of the Bay Area counties and a technical advisory committee with representatives from the Regional Airport Planning Committee, large population cities, airports, airlines and community organizations, will advise the FAA in a comprehensive assessment of commercial air traffic routes, procedures and environmental effects on the Bay Area. Because the City of Richmond is affected by commercial flights in and out of the San Francisco and Oakland Airports, I am recommending that Supervisor Gioia be appointed to serve on and represent the County on the regional work group. At its regular meeting on July 17, 2001, the Board decided to appoint Supervisors Gerber and Glover to the Executive Governing Committee of the Joint Powers Authority established to oversee the development of the Habitat Conservation Plan. I am recommending that the Board appointments roster be updated to reflect these appointments.
