HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09101996 - 96-408 i4T- l IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the ) Memory of Judge Charles Wilson ) Resolution 96/408 WHEREAS, Judge Charles Wilson was a longtime resident of El Cerrito and worked closely with the city of Richmond in establishing and promoting youth and senior services; and WHEREAS, Judge Wilson was the Presidenf of the El Cerrito NAACP and worked with the civil rights movement in promoting equality and justice for all persons, regardless of race or religion; and WHEREAS, Judge Wilson established the Human Relations Commission in El Cerrito; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors honored Judge Wilson earlier this year as Humanitarian of the Year; and Now, therefore be it resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County adjorn its meeting of September 10, 1996 in memory of Judge Wilson; and Be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does join together with friends and family in memorial of Judge Charles Wilson for his outstanding service to the community as well as the County of Contra Costa, his passing is a loss to us all. PASSED AND ADOPTED on September 10, 1996, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
