HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09191995 - 95-423 Board of Supervisors Of Contra Costa County, State of California IN RECOGNITION OF POLLUTION PREVENTION I WEEK, SEPTEMBER 113 - 24, 1885 IN CONTRA I COSTA COUNTY A$ RECDMMENDED BY I SUPERVISOR GAYL.E BISHOP I RESOL MON NO, 95/423 WHEREAS, Contra Costa County strongly encourages and promotes activities which will achieve and maintain clean healthy air for all residents of the Bey Area; WHEREAS, pollution prevention is an approach to improving air quality which focuses on reducing or eliminating the creation of air pollutants by potential sources of pollution; WHEREAS, by preventing the creation of pollution in the first place, pollution prevention is a preferable strategy for cleaning the air; WHEREAS, industry will be rewarded with positive results by implementing pollution prevention methods which increase efficiency, reduce waste, enhance competitiveness, and help meet the challenges of the 90's; WHEREAS, the Consortium of California Pollution Prevention Committees is sponsoring Pollution Prevention Week of September 18 through 24, 1995; WHEREAS, Pollution Prevention Week 1995 is made possible by funding and support from Cal/EPA, the California Department of toxic Substances Control's Office of Pollution Prevention and Technology Development, and by the U. S. Environmental Pollution Agency; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby proclaim that September 18 through 24 shall be Pollution Prevention Week in Contra Costa County, PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of those Supervisors present on September ' 19, 1995. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors.
