HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09191995 - 95-422 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order onSeptmber-l9. 1995 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Rogers, Smith, DeSaulnier, Torlakson, Bishop NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None IN THE MATTER OF PROMOTING) RESOLUTION NO. 95/422 Pollution Prevention Week) September 18-24, 1995) WHEREAS, Contra Costa County supports a clean, safe, and healthful environment for its residents; and WHEREAS, This week is Pollution Prevention Week in California and the nation; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has a significant concentration of industry and hazardous materials use and storage; and WHEREAS, County government and other government agencies, the business community, environmental organizatons and residents have engaged for many years in ongoing efforts to reduce the risks to residents and employees of accidents and exposures to hazardous materials and wastes; and WHEREAS, pollution prevention not only reduces risks but can increase industrial efficiency and save money for businesses and government; and WHEREAS, Pollution Prevention Week is an opportunity to recognize the potential of pollution prevention and work together to to plan for a prosperous and sustainable future, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that September 18-24, 1995, is Pollution Prevention Week and the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors hereby urges all residents and businesses to participate in local and regional celebratory and educational activities. I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THIS IS A TRUE AND CORRECT COPY OF AN ACTION TAKEN AND ENTERED ON THE MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ON THE DATE SHOWN.
