HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 08081995 - 95-360 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS I ` OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Transitional Permit ) Extensions for Solid Waste Franchising ) and Collection ) RESOLUTION NO. 95/ 3 6 0 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT: 1. On August 6, 1991, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolutions Number 91/539, 91/540, 91/541, 91/542, 91/543, 91/544 and 91/545. These resolutions granted Transitional Permits to Byron Sanitary District, Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, Crockett Valona Sanitary District, Kensington Community Services District, Mountain View Sanitary District, Oakley Sanitary District and Rodeo Sanitary District to allow continued franchising solid waste handling services, including recycling services in the unincorporated areas until December 31, 1991. 2. On August 6, 1991, the Board of Supervisors also adopted Resolutions Number 91/572, 91/538, 91/537, 91/536, 91/535, 91/534, 91/533, 91/532, 91/531, 91/530 and 91/529 which granted Transitional Permits to Silvio Garaventa, Sr. (individually and doing business as Oakley Disposal or by any other fictitious name), Bay View Refuse Service, Inc., Crockett Garbage Company, Orinda/Moraga Disposal Service, Pleasant Hill Bayshore Disposal, Inc., SAWDCO dba Valley Waste Management and Richmond Sanitary Service to allow continued solid waste handling services, including recycling services, in the unincorporated areas until December 31, 1991. 3. The purpose of the Transitional Permits was to allow time for discussion with the sanitary districts and solid waste collectors on the implementation of Ordinance 91-31. These discussions are on-going and have not yet been concluded. 4. These resolutions were amended from time to time to extend the term of the transitional permits; current resolutions expire June 30, 1995. 5. Resolutions Number 91/539, 91/540, 91/541, 91/542, 91/543, 91/544, 91/545, 91/572 and 91/538, 91/537, 91/536, 91/535, 91/534, 91/533, 91/532, 91/531, 91/530 and 91/529 are hereby amended to extend the term of the transitional permits which allow for continued administration of the current franchises between the Sanitary Districts and existing solid waste haulers through December 31, 1995 or earlier if other arrangements or agreements are made which provide for waste collection in the unincorporated areas of the County in compliance with Ordinance 91-31.
