HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 08011995 - 95-342 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring ) DEPUTY MICHAEL FISHER as the ) RESOLUTION NO. 951342 1995 Gold Knight Awardee ) WHEREAS, the Knights of Columbus was formed in 1881 by Catholic men who were predominately police officers and firefighters; and WHEREAS, today members of the Knights of Columbus enjoy such benefits as free life insurance and tuition for their children to any Catholic school in the United States; and WHEREAS, twelve years ago the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus began to honor police officers, sheriff deputies, and fire fighters with the Blue Knight Award, the Gold Knight Award, and the Red Knight Award, respectively; and WHEREAS, the awardees, who do not have to members, are selected by their coworkers for their outstanding service or a particular act of bravery; and WHEREAS, this year's Gold Knight Award recipient is Contra Costa County Sheriffs Deputy Michael Fisher, who has been a member of the Sheriff's Office for 14 years; and WHEREAS, Deputy Fisher was selected for the Award for his outstanding ability, work ethic, and attention to details and for his remarkable level of knowledge of known criminals, their habits, and methods of operation; and WHEREAS, we are proud to have a law enforcement officer of Deputy Fisher's caliber working for Contra Costa. County and wish him continued success with his career. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors DEPUTY MICHAEL FISHER as the recipient of the 1995 Gold Knight Award.
