Ile was employed 6y Shell Oil Company in 9Kartinez for 33 years until his retirement in 1980. .ale was a Safety inspector andtheirfirst BlackForeman. ` MEUAS, he is the Pastor of Li6erty Church of God in Christ in Bay Point where his devoted wife, Pearl;works with him .rle is the father of seven children and seventeen grandchildren,• 14 EREAS, Elder Slaughter has been involved in many community activities, among those are board member of the Food Coalition of Pittsburg, (Founder of the Pittsburg Community Fellowship.four,former President of the WinisterialAlliance, Coordinator of the Dr. 9Kartin Luther ?ung Commemoration Program, and member of the Executive Board of Delta 2000. Me also serves as the chaplain for the Pittsburg Police Department; Elder Slaughter helped organized and lead several candle 4ht marches against drugs; UMEREAS, in 1983, Elder Dan Slaughter, Sr., received the "xumanitarian of the Tear" Award. UMEUAS, he served his country in the Vnited States Army; stationed in Xorea for 14 months and was awarded three Bronze Stars.
