IN TBE BOARD OF S LIPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CA LIFORNL4 In the Matter of Honoring ) ZI�LG�RBACH F"ILY FUND for its ) RESOLUTION NO. 94/435 Commitment to Children's Issues ) and Foster Children in Particular ) Whereas, the Zellerbach Family Fund, established in 1958, has a long history of making a difference to communities by providing resources that improve the lives of economically disadvantaged children and families; Whereas, the Zellerbach Family Fund has contributed to resolving some of the most pressing issues in Contra Costa County through its innovative support of community-based, neighborhood-centered,family focused services and programs. Whereas, the Zellerbach Family Fund since 1987 has focused on the crisis in foster care in California by establishing and funding the "Community Task Force on Homes for Children;" Whereas, as a direct result of the Zellerbach Family Fund support, the Community Task Force on Homes for Children was able to initiate in 1990 "Brian's Kids," a weekly TV news spot on KPIX TV and to establish a HELP LINE through the United Way to respond to TV viewers potentially interested in becoming foster/adoptive parents; Now Therefore Be 1t Resotued that in recognition of the Zellerbach Family Fund's indefatigable commitment to children's issues and foster children in particular, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County applauds and commends the Zellerbach Family Fund for its significant contribution to improving the lives of foster children in Contra Costa County.
