HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 08161994 - 94-420 /, /06 _ �Zw�-.ted THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Resolution on Auqust 16 , 1994 -- by the following vote: AYES: supervisors Smith, Bishop, De Saulnier, Torlakson and Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the Matter of Authorizing 94/420 a July 1, 1994 Pay Equity Resolution NO. Adjustment for all Affected Classifications The Board of Supervisors has previously adopted the final results of the Pay Equity study on February 23, 1993 in Resolution 93/71 for all affected unrepresented, represented and management classifications which included supplemental memoranda of understanding with each participating employee organization denoting that any future pay equity disbursement would be in the month of January; and The Board of Supervisors has authorized a 1% general salary increase derived from net health plan savings effective July 1, 1994 for specified unrepresented, represented and management classifications; and The County has met and conferred and reached agreements' with employee organizations participating in the pay equity studies and has executed side letters amending the 1993 supplemental Memorandum of Understanding to grant up to a five level (1/2%) increase effective July 1, 1994 to correspond with the 1% general increase; and It being necessary to authorize the disbursement of this pay equity increase for affected unrepresented, represented and management employees effective July 1, 1994, NOW THEREFORE, The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra costa, and all districts of which is in the ex-official governing Board RESOLVES THAT: 1. The side letters executed between the County and AFCSME Locals 2700 and 512, SEIU Local 535, CCCEA Local Number One and the Appraisers Association attached to and incorporated herein are adopted. 2. Effective July 1, 1994, those management employees not included in representation units and unrepresented employees whose classifications are identified by Resolution 93/71 as below the pay equity trend line and therefore eligible for pay equity adjustment until their salary reaches the trend line, shall be increased in addition to the 10 level general salary adjustment, up to five levels (.5%) in accordance with the established pay equity formula. 3. Those employees whose classifications were identified in Resolution 93/71 as eligible for pay equity adjustments and whose classes remain below the trend line effective 7/1/94 shall receive a lump sum payment for the month of July 1994 in lieu of retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputations processing for that month. The lump sum shall be computed for July 1994 as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together to determine,the appropriate pay base this base will then be multiplied by the appropriate percentage up to th% to arrive at the employee's lump sum payment. The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's September 10, 1994 paycheck where it will be listed separately as a "Lump Sum Payment" and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement distribution requirements.
