HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09121989 - 89-593 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) Congratulating Edna Selley ) RESOLUTION NO. 8 9/5 9 3 on her retirement and ) Commending her for her ) years of service ) ,Edna Selley has announced her retirement from the Contra Costa County Legal Assistance for the Elderly, Inc.; and VAIEREAS,Ms. Selley has been a mainstay for the program since its inception in 1977 as the Contra Costa County Senior Paralegal Project; and WHEREAS,Ms. Selley graduated from the National Paralegal Institute and became a specialist in the field of Aging,her clients were able to benefit from both her compassion and her expertise; and WHEREAS,before joining the Senior Legal Assistance Program, Ms. Selley was active in many organizations benefitting seniors, such as Meals-on-Wheels, Friendly Visitors, the Advisory Concil of Aging, the Assistance League of Diablo Valley, the Alamo-Danville Committee on Aging, as well as the League of Women Voters and the Volunteer Bureau of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS,though retiring,Ms. Selley will continue her volunteer work as a referee for disciplinary matters on the State Bar Court; and WHEREAS,Ms. Selley plans to resume her work for the Contra Costa Legal Assistance for the Elderly on a volunteer basis after a well-deserved rest period; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY,CALIFORNIA,does hereby congratulate Edna Selley on her retirement and commend her for her years of service and commitment to the legal needs of the elderly of Contra Costa County; PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 12th day of September, 1989.
