WHEREAS the Employee Relations Officer has advised the Board that a side letter
agreement has been entered into with United Professional Fire Fighters,
I .A.F.F., Local 1230 regarding Paramedics in the Moraga Fire Protection
District, and
WHEREAS the terms of said side letter are specified in the document attached as
Exhibit "A".
Therefore BE IT RESOLVED that said side le.'tter is approved by the Board, effec-
tive the July 1 , 1989.

Dear Mr. Price:
This is to confirm agreement to modify Section 28 Orinda & Moraga Fire
Protection Districts Differentials - of the 1989-1992 Memorandum of
Understanding between Contra Costa County Fire Protection Districts and United
Professional Fire Fighters, I.A.F.F. , Local 1230 by adding the following
paragraph:
"Effective July 1 , 1989 Paramedic personnel of the Moraga Fire Protection
District are eligible to receive the fifty dollar ($50) per month EMT-lA dif-
ferential , provided said personnel comply with all other provisions of Section
28.".
It is also agreed that United Professional Fire Fighters, I.A.F.F. , Local 1230
will agree to the termination of the H.E.A.L.S. health plan at such time the
HEALS plan is placed on the Board of Supervisor's agenda for cancellation.
If the foregoing conforms with your understanding, please indicate your approval
and acceptance in the space provided below.
