HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 07251989 - 89-500 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) the County of Contra Costa a ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/500 LOVE YOUR HEART COUNTY ) WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa in the sovereign State of California, United States of America, will be one of the first counties in America to be a LOVE YOUR HEART COUNTY; and WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa plans to lead the nation in fostering awareness, assessment and action programs in cholesterol and cardiovascular health for the benefit of the county, cities, communities and residents of Contra Costa County as well as the general public; and WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa will work with the Surgeon General of the United States, American Heart Association, National Institute of Health, American Medical Association, National Cholesterol Education Program, California Medical Association, Contra Costa County' s Health Department and QUAL-MED to inform the county, cities, communities, county residents and the general public about the importance of heart health and fitness in the fight against coronary heart disease; and WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa will set the standard for other counties in California and America to compare against, and WHEREAS the County of Contra Costa invites the county, cities and communities to support and promote fitness and health for its residents as well as the general public; NOW THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby PROCLAIM this County a LOVE YOUR HEART COUNTY.
