HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 09271988 - 88-622 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Supporting ) the Acalanes Union High School ) District in its Effort to Pass ) Resolution No. : 88/622 Measure B on the November 8, 1988 ) Ballot ) WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County has determined that Acalanes Union High School District students consistently score in the top 95% among all students throughout the state in reading, math, and science; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board, the Acalanes Union High School District in order to maintain its high quality of educational excellence is in need of 34 million for reconstruction and repair to buildings to enable the district to enhance the educational opportunities of the students in the district and the community; and WHEREAS, the tax rate for the bond would be less than the statewide average and also less than that of many surrounding high school districts; and WHEREAS, the state is not able to provide the funds necessary for the Acalanes Union High School District's Capital Improvement projects; and WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Board, it is advisable for the Acalanes Union High School District to call for an election November 8, 1988, on the question of whether $34 million in bonds shall be issued and sold for reconstruction and repair to buildings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS,OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA, HEREBY SUPPORTS THE ACALANES UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ITS EFFORT TO PASS MEASURE B ON THE NOVEMBER 8, 1988, BALLOT. Passed and adopted on September 27, 1988, by the unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
