CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

the week of September 1 through ) RESOLUTION NO. 88/ 555

Trade Week )
WHEREAS, the need to develop a better understanding between the United
States and her trading partners is of paramount economic and cultural interest;
and
WHEREAS, international trade is an increasingly important element of the
economy of the United States, California and Contra Costa County; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has many firms who are currently involved in
both import and export along with many more which are potential importers and
exporters; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa County has established relationships with overseas
governments including our sister county union with Taichung County Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, the Contra Costa International Trade Association is continuing
to work to educate corporations and private individuals about the opportunities
that trade can provide; and
WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Council will be hosting events designed to
highlight the importance of international trade during the week of September 1
through September 7, 1988;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa county Board of
Supervisors recognizes the need to promote international trade; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors
COMMENDS the Contra Costa International Trade Association for its efforts
toward increasing trade; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Contra Costa
County Board of Supervisors DECLARES the week of, September 1 through September 7, -
1988 as Contra Costa International Trade Week.
